Catching Up
So apparently we’re creeping up on an entire year without a post here? Gosh you guys. I guess it’s cause I haven’t had much reason. But I have been working on some things:
-Lone Pine Coffee Roasters is a site that will be up and running pretty soon. These are rad people who make great coffee in Madras.
-The Artistery site is getting a complete makeover. Actually, not a makeover. Not even an overhaul. Basically we’re killing it and creating new life in its stead. Web euthanasia? Probably. I guess outdated designs and tiny content areas aren’t really our thing anymore. Not to mention inconsistency!
-Baristocracy and Orcaskine are getting redone a bit also. They will remain largely the same, but with some added features like archives, comments, links and… whatever else I can figure out. Baristocracy itself is getting overhauled, with a simpler hand-drawn background and updated art. It will also be more publish-friendly in case anyone wants to print it in their magazines or newspapers.
-A Selfish Steam store will soon carry comics merch, probably some photos and arty things by me, and music (see below) for you to buy. It will be under construction, so I guess don’t pay any attention till I say go.
-I have been recording some and should have a modest Bognor album available by the end of the year. I wonder if someone wants to help me put that out?
-We are soon going to be able to burn screens at the Artistery. Sticker, t-shirt and album making parties will soon become commonplace. Stay tuned.
-This isn’t really what I’ve been up to, but Aaron got a nice little write-up in the Willamette Week today, and our friend Robbie Augspurger took a nice photo to accompany it.
Guess I better get back to work… I must have tons of calls being held for me, on account of I’ve been blogging and all.

News and explanations
It’s been over a month without a post, so I figure now is as good a time as any.
As you may have noticed, the site was down for a few days over New Years. I’m not sure how long it was, as I let the domain expire and didn’t have sufficient funds to re-register. But I got paid, and now that won’t happen for a minimum of two years.
So I didn’t get my comics updated, but regular updates resume now, as this week’s Orcaskine is being finished by my elves right now. Thing is, they aren’t like Santa’s elves who are all jolly and happy, they are cold hearted Tolkienian elves who take no pleasure in making comics for me. That’s why they are not funny!
I am showing and selling some of my photography at Willamette Coffee House in West Linn (this also happens to be where I work). Some of those prints are on this site, but there are prints that are new. They are priced really well, so come visit me and check out the photos, and maybe buy some?

Selfish Steam official relaunch
And finally, here’s what I’ve all been waiting for: the official relaunch of the site. The reasons of the reworking are numerous:
-Cleaner site design and coding! I ditched the table-layout and made larger content areas so you can see more.
-Crazy high-tech sleekified photo gallery! A lot of my favorite photos are now viewable and serving as a de-facto portfolio of my personal work. The near future sees some of the wedding work I’ve done with Becca and other portraiture. Hopefully some people will see these photos and hire me to do some work for them. Low rates! Great results! Shameless self-promotion!
-Music! I have posted a couple songs of mine. I will make old Winfield stuff and Spy Island material available for purchase there soon. I want to use SS as a kind of record label eventually, but for now you can just listen to the progress I am making on an album. At least you can hear what I choose to show you…
-Comics: pluralized! I’ve relaunched Orcaskine to have a better updating mechanism (that’s really only important to me), but also am debuting my new comic Baristocracy. It’s about me and the coffee-shop life. I know there are a lot of comics that involve coffee and shops thereof, but none of them actually deal with coffee or customer service. I won’t continue this comic unless there is a demand for it, so if you like it, tell your friends! Tell anyone who will listen! Spread the word! Orcaskine will probably continue regardless cause I kind of love it.
Those are the main reasons for all the fuss. Comments for this blog and comics will be arriving at some point after I figure it out. This blog will deal mostly with somewhat more ‘professional’ matters, but I will update about my life and other scandalous and/or risque topics at my Livejournal.
There’s more stuff to talk about, but I’ll save those specifics for another post, as this one’s way too long already. See you soon.
